Throwing Dishware Sets, Saturday, December 14th, 10am-1pm
This three hour workshop with Daisy will discuss techniques and tools used to make matching sets. Matching pieces imply a specified moment of togetherness, and can be used as a point to consider connecting pottery and community. The workshop will begin with a brief discussion of how pottery can be used as a catalyst for social ritual, and then we will talk about how to use calipers, rulers, mirrors, and throwing gauges to create similar pots. We will discuss the details and nuances of shape and repetition. This workshop will be focused on making multiples of a singular shape chosen by each individual.
