This class begins on Monday 1/6, and the last class is on 2/24.

Introduction to handbuilding with a focus on sculpture. Students will learn the basics of working with clay off the wheel and will learn handbuilding methods such as coil building and slab work. Demonstrations will be given in sculpture techniques and in building functional vessels. The classes will also go over different types of surface decoration using slips and glazes. This is a suitable class for beginners and anyone looking to further an exploration in handbuilding, all levels are welcome.
